Japan has seen a surge in bathroom-themed attractions, from the latest ‘bathtub selfie’ to a ‘bathroom bath’ featuring a woman sitting on the edge of a bathtub.
The latest addition to the country’s popular theme park offerings is called “Bathhouse,” and it will be opening this year in Tokyo’s Akihabara district.
A bathtub selfie, meanwhile, is also being built at a Tokyo amusement park.
The attraction features a woman holding a bath towel over her head, which is then lowered down onto the floor of a pool.
“The idea is to capture the essence of the Japanese lifestyle and culture,” Toshihiko Matsuzaki, director of the Osaka theme park, told the Associated Press.
“We have a lot of tourists who come here and they can’t get in.”
The bathtub is also supposed to be a place for Japanese families to have fun, and Matsuzak says that the attraction will offer a “beautiful place to enjoy a bath while watching the ocean.”
